Keepsake Kate came about when my sister (knowing my love for creating things using my sewing machine) asked me to make her a teddy bear telling the story of her son's first few months using the clothes (and blanket) he wore at that time. The result was Jack bear!
Word of my sister's special bear spread and soon I had many other requests to transform treasured items of clothing into Keepsake Bears. At this point I decided to take the plunge and turn my passion into a business. Although most of the commissions have been for Baby Keepsake Bears, I have also made Memorial Bears (made from clothing that holds memories of lost loved ones) and Life Event Bears (such as one made using a primary school uniform).
Being a mother to three beautiful girls myself, I understand the sentimental value of your baby's first clothing, and I always feel privileged to be entrusted with such precious items. You can be assured that they will be treated respectfully and, as a small independent business, I offer a friendly and personal service to all of my customers.
